Abstractions

There is a freedom with the application of paint in abstractions, yet each of these abstractions was based on a very specific structure.  Whether it was collage or drawings, this structure allowed me to have freedom during the actual painting process.  Color, important in all my paintings, takes on its own character here.  Whether it be a quieter palette, like in Pier in the Fog, or bright exuberate palettes, like in Rorschach Abstract and Collage to Paint, the investigation and understanding of color allows the viewer to have a similar experience as the artist.
